Neurodivergent-Friendly Assessment
At Queer Therapy Boston, we recognize that access to mental healthcare is not always accessible to everyone and that getting a diagnosis can be challenging. We believe that you know yourself and your experiences best, and we are open to working collaboratively with people who come in with a “self-diagnosis” to understand their experiences and get them the care and support that works best for them.
Our prescriber will listen to you, take your concerns seriously, and recognizes that neurodiverse traits can express themselves differently depending on gender, life experience, background, etc.
You do not need a neuropsych evaluation or a former diagnosis of ADHD to be seen by our prescriber for ADHD treatment. Our prescriber can provide ADHD assessment services as part of your regular care and if/when deemed appropriate, will provide psychiatry to support you in managing symptoms (including but not limited to stimulant medication as options).
